With the increasing of the demand of high precise product in the Die & mould industry and manufacturing of aviation & astronavigation, the demand of LS-WEDM is increasing in market. By now the companies in China that produce LS-WEDM is very less, just as Suzhou Sanguang Science & Technology Co., Ltd. Suzhou Electmachining Machine Tool Research Institute. Furthermore, compare foreign forerunner produce factory, still exist a very big margin on the technique.In the background of this, we associate with Hangzhou Machine Tool Group Co., Ltd. to exploit LS-WEDM. This thesis mainly covers the following four aspects of research work:1. According to the function demand of LS-WEDM, the hardware structure of the NC system has been established: IPC plus Motion Control Card, on the base of this, motion control card and I/O interface card have been selected, at the meantime the AC Servo System of Panasonic has been selected as machine tool servo feeding system, the connection to motion control card and debug was realized;2. The system software design have been completed as a whole, the multi-task processing in parallel of the system has been completed by using Windows multiple thread mechanism. Thread adopts global variable to communicate, each thread works together to realize the NC system motion control functions. Uses VC++ to complete user interface development, and uses ADO completed the craft database design;3. Carried out the main function of motion control. Motion control mostly realized the machine tool motion's function mold, such as Start Point Return & Held Point Return etc. This partial function is the soul of the machine tool sport, the strong or weak of function reflected the automatic level of the machine tool directly;4. Discussed LS-WEDM to protect the machining field by adopt software method for power down. This problem puts forward not only fit for LS-WEDM NC system, it is applicable to all machine tool number control system that hardware structure as PC or IPC plus DSP, can resolve the problem of power down protection nicely.
