Studies On The Sci-tech Ethics Under The Perspective Of Food Safety

"Food is what matters to the people" and food is considered to be the primary needs for the existence and development of human society. With the rapid development of science and technology, medical and health services have advanced dramatically, people’s lifespan has increased greatly, and human beings have entered to an age of exquisite life. However, with the modernization of planting and stockbreeding, the whole world was gripped by various kinds of diseases resulted from foods. Thus people’s concern about food safety has improved unprecedented and the panic of unsafe food has increased continuously. Faced with such a situation, all governments try to use compulsive function of the law to end this situation. Although such measures have achieved great accomplishment, food safety problem happens from time to time.Chapter one starts with discussions about what is food safety problem and what is sci-tech ethics, and then discusses the connotation and present situation of food safety and sci-tech ethics, and the necessity and feasibility of adjusting the food safety crisis by sci-tech ethics. Chapter two starts with thoughts on western sci-tech ethics, digging sci-tech ethics dilemmas such as the loss of life value origin, the cognitive crisis of value, the dissimilation of value and the feebleness of value criterion existing in present food industry. After using the western advanced thoughts for reference, only when swing in with the ideological basis existing and implied in Chinese society as theoretical support, can the problems existing in China be solved fundamentally. In this chapter, by dint of sci-tech ethics theory contained in Chinese Confucianism, the author animadverts on the indifference of kindheartedness principle; the neglect of "thinking the righteousness when seeing the benefits", and the loss of prudential attitude existing in present food industry.In chapter three, on the basis of summarizing the whole paper, the author put forward the ideas of expediting the steps of constructing the common development mechanism of ethics and science and technology, the ethic duty education of engineers in food industry and the legalization of sci-tech ethics. On the basis of the discussion of the relationship between ethics and the law. the author makes it clear the guarantee of the law to ethics and brings forward the suggestions of expediting the legalization of sci-tech ethics, consummating the laws and regulations of food safety, concerning about food safety criterion system and constructing of emergency treatment system. At the same time, the author also clarifies the important roles the feedback regulation system, the construction of evaluation system, ethic guidance of the subject and the mechanism construction played in the common development of ethics and science and technology. At last, the author suggests the ideas of constructing the evaluating system and long-term mechanism of ethic duty education of engineers in food industry and building up go-aheadism duty conception in order to expediting the construction of ethic duty education of engineers in food industry.Just as an old saying goes,"Rome is not build in one day", food safety has been a long standing problem for human society. The author tries to solve the food safety problem and to make a contribution for the harmonious development of human society.
