Tenuazonic acid (short for TeA) exhibits certain antitumor, antivirus and herbicidal activities, its derivatives also show good biological activities, so much attention has been focused to the field of pesticide research. Oxime ether derivatives also have good insecticidal, herbicidal and antifungal activities, most of them have the characteristics of high efficiency, low toxicity and low residue, along with unique configuration and active mechanism, oxime ether group is widely used in pesticide structures as insecticides, fungicides and herbicides recently. In order to find more novel compounds that possess high biological activities, a series of TeA derivatives with the oxime ether moiety were synthesized, and their biological activities were preliminarily evaluated.Firstly, with the substituted amines, ethyl chloroacetate and ethyl benzoylacetate as the starting materials, compounds1-substitutedphenyl-3-benzylpyrrolidine-2,4-dione were synthesized, then these compounds further were reacted with5kinds of alkyloxyamine hydrochlorides respectively to give1-substitutedphenyl-3-(1-alkyl-oxyimino)benzylpyrrolidine-2,4-dione derivatives. Structures of all these new compo-unds were confirmed by1H NMR, MS, IR and elemental analysis.Their herbicidal activities were tested with Brassica napus root and Echinochloa crusgalli bud, fungicidal activities were tested by radial growth inhibition method using Rhizoctonia cerealis, Fusarium gramiuearum and Colletotrichum capsici as tested fungi, and pesticidal activities against Plutella xylostella linnaeus were tested by feeding dipped-leaf method. The bioassay results indicated that the title compounds exhibited no pesticidal activities, week antifungal activities, but certain herbicidal activities. Thereinto, the compounds3e,3f,3h,3p,3q and3s exhibited inhibition rates over50%against Brassica napus at the concentration of100μg/mL, while has no inhibition effects against Echinochloa crusgalli.
