Printing control strip isn’t used in the printing quality detection system based on whole page. The system here scans the whole page of print and detects the images scanned before. The system divides the images into parts at several levels, contrasts the differences between the relative parts, and then calculate the color difference. In the image processing of printing quality detection system, because of nonuse of the printing control strip, the conversion from RGB color space to CIE1976L*a*b*uniform color space is necessary. Use1000samples collected and polynomial regression equation to establish the conversion model of RGB to L*a*b*color space, compute color difference (△Eab,*), analyze the advantage and disadvantage of polynomial regression algorithm.In VC++6.0, program the subarea and run it, sign the parts which value is out of range. The result of experiment show:subarea technology can avoid the running problem of pixel-detection, and also, detect problem of small part. The experimental results show that the polynomial regression algorithm is simple, easy reverse operation, and the speed of calculation is rather fast.
