The high phosphorus iron producing area of West Hubei has proven reserves of2billiontons which is still at an experimental stage because of the complexity of geological environmentand the high phosphorus content. In order to solve the mining problems, the “West Hubeisedimentary type high phosphorus iron ore bed panel combined mechanized mining technology”project has been approved by the National Key Technology R&D Program of11th Five-YearPlan.. This paper is based on its subproject–"Evaluation of the influence of mining environment".The geological disaster assessment in the feasibility analysis of metal mining is alwaysqualitative based, in view of the situation, the “anti-disturbance ability of the geologicalenvironment of metal mine” is proposed, and then the connotation, characteristics and influencefactors of this conception is analyzed.While the main mechanism of geological disaster such asgoaf collapse, landslide, and karst collapse during the process of West Hubei iron ore mining issummarized, the index system which covers point evaluation, assessment evaluation and regionalevaluation is established according to the difference of evaluation area. In the meantime, acombination weighting method which contains AHP, entropy weight calculation, and a linearweighted evaluation model is present.In the end, an empirical research of the high-phosphorus iron ore Guan Dian in West Hubeiis present. First, the specific assessment indexes of the anti-disturbance ability of the geologicalenvironment in mining area is determined in consideration ofthe conditions of the minegeological environment, the mining method to be adopted, and the data availability. Then, theseevaluation indexes are classified into four levels. The results show that: the anti-disturbanceability of the official store mine geological environment is classified into “Medium”. We need tofocus on strengthening the prediction and prevention of the collapse-landslide disaster which isbrought by the mining disturbance.
