Gas-assisted Injection Molding(GAIM) is one of important and innovative molding process.The technology has the advantages of traditional injection molding, at the same time,dramatically avoid the defect.It is considered a revolution of the injection molding technology.Though the technology has commercialized more than ten years, due to the introduction ofgas, GAIM process becomes much more complicated, at present the research on GAIMprocessing property is not mature now.The experience and knowledge which is apply to thetraditional process is is not enough to solve the creative process; The experience of GAIM isfinite,so this article use the method of numerical simulation and physical experiment to studygas penetrate mechanism,the influence of process parameters and the design of gaschannel.The study obtain some significative results and conclusions,it offers reference andtheoretical guidance for GAIM on technology application in production, process parametersoptimization and gas-assisted products design.The followings are studied in this paper:1.The manipulation procedures of GAIM simulation in Moldflow software weregiven.The mutual closed of corporations or graduate schools counteract the development andapplication of GAIM.The text made full analysis and on MPI/3D GAS of Autodesk Moldflow2010.2.The influence of the processing parameters on GAIM were studied.(1)The influencerule of the processing parameters are studied.(2) Use orthogonal experiment method, theprimary and secondary sequence of processing parameters on products quality isascertained;The key process parameters were identifid. the optimum combination of moldingprocess parameters were determined using consolidated balance analysis.(3) The effect ofGAIM processing parameters interaction was studied.3. Research on gas channel of GAIM. The6different section shape of gas channel on theGas-Assisted Injection Molding was researched, the better gas channel is ascertained.Thestudy will provide the basis for design of gas channel selection in product.4. The experiments on results of the simulation was carried out. A GAIM mold andexperimental scheme was designed and processing, experimental design, the comparison wasmade with the simulation results.
