The substrate is a kind of composite sheet made of polyurethane which is commonly used in the manufacture of automobile interior decoration. As an important part of Auto-inner Ornament, its quality and performance is related to the vehicle’s appearance and performance. The thickness and weight are the two most important concerns in the production and quality evaluation system of substrate, and the precision embodies the level of manufacturing and quality grade. For a long time, the measurement and recording are both accomplished by hand. It has problems such as low measuring precision, low working efficiency and only can be spot checked. With the requirement on automobile parts is more and more strict and the market competition is more and more fierce, the traditional production modes and measuring methods can not meet to the requirement on quality management. So, it is important to develop the information detection system of substrate to achieve continuous online measurement.According to the production process and detecting demands, the paper rebuilds the existing manufacture line based on the deep research on the methods of on-line detection, and selects appropriate hardware to build the system according to the actual needs to promote the automation and intelligent of production. Finally, the production efficiency and product yield are promoted.The substrate needs to cut off because all the plates are combined in the compound process. The worker observes the connection gap position and starts cutting machine when the plate arrives at the specified location. In order to reduce the dependence on human resources, the paper designs an automatic cutting device based on visual inspection. The device uses visual system to detective connection gap and then sends orders to start the cutting machine. First, it select proper light source, video camera, and lens, image acquisition card to set up hardware platform. And then it designs correlation algorithm to process the image. Finally, it judges if the gap has arrived the specified location, and the visual inspection process is completed.Thickness measurement is in the way of non-contacted measurement in order to not affect the quality of substrate surface. The system collects thickness data by two pairs of laser displacement sensors. PLC converts the analog signal to digital signal and sends it to the upper-computer, and the upper-computer gets the actual value. There is a lot of interference around the line and the errors are bigger, so the system improves measurement accuracy by both hardware and software methods. It also sets different delay time according to the length to ensure the uniformity.The dynamic weighting is based on electronic belt scale. The paper designs the mechanical structure, selects right sensors and weighing instrument and communicates with the upper computer. Dynamic measurement is difficult to achieve the accuracy of static measurement because of too many influence factors. The paper analyses the error sources according to the use environment and investigates the way to develop the precision.The software includes desktop application and Web program based on B/S structure. The desktop application is to complete data collection, processing, preservation and statistics. It communicates with the lower computer through the serial ports and storages the data to database of SQL server. The Web program is to remote browsing.
