Metal coordination complexes have attracted interest due to their potential applications in photics, catalysis and magnetics. Here, we will describe the study of synthesis, characterization and reactivity of pyrazine-carboxylic complexes and polyoxometalaticligand ruthenium complexes.1. Treatment of pyrazine-2-carboxylic acid (pyzc) with Ni(OAc)2·4H2O under hydrothermal or reflux condition afforded [Ni(pyzc)2(H2O)2]·2H2O (1). Treatment of1with AgNO3afforded [Ag{Ni(pyzc)2(H2O)2}][NO3](2). Treatment of pyzc with two equivalent of BiPh3afforded [Bi4(Ph)4(pyzc)8](3). Complexes of1-3were characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, X-ray diffraction study or NMR spectra. Complex1is formally6-coordinated, of which NiⅡ atom located at the center of the pseudo-octahedral{NiO4N2} geometry. Two O atoms and two N atoms from two chelating pyzc ligands coordinate NiⅡ atom on equatorial plane, and two O atoms from coordinated water molecules occupy the axial positions. Complex2is a polymeric structure consisting of Ni(C4H3N2CO2)2(H2O)2units which linked into infinite chains by AgⅠ center via pyzc N atoms. The distance of Ag-N is2.255(7) A. The coordination environments of Ni(C4H3N2CO2)2(H2O)2units in2is similar with that of complex1. The combination of hydrogen bonding and weak Ag…O interactions in2serve to effectively link individual chains into a three-dimensional network. Complex3contains four Bi atoms. Each Bi atom is coordinated by two O atoms and one N atom from μ2, η2-pyzc ligand, and one O atom and one N atom from η2-pyzc ligand and one C atom from phenyl ligand.2. Treatment of polyoxometalatic ruthenium nitride complex (POM)Ru(=N)(POM=PW11O39/-) with Me3NO afforded ruthenium(Ⅱ) nitrosyl complex (POM)Ru(NO)(4), Irradiation of4with a Hg immersion lamp gave ruthenium(Ⅲ) complex (POM)Ru(H2O)(5). Treatment of5with PhICl2gave ruthenium(Ⅳ) complex (POM)RuCl (6). Complexs of4-6have been characterized by TG-DTG, IR, UV-vis and NMR spectra.
