Some hydrazone Schiff base ligands with a single N-N bridge have been received intense attention due to their structural and functional diversities. These ligands usually lead to a situation where a variety of different structural types, such as chains, metallomacrocycles, and metallocrowns, are observed. The different structural types are mainly dependend on the rotationality and coordination activity of the N-N single bond. In this dissertation, the author has carried out the study on structural chemistry of Cu and Ni coordination complexes with mixed ligands of hydrazone ligand and heterocycle molecule.Twelve title compounds have been synthesized and characterized. These title compounds are complexes with N1,N4-bissalicylaldehyde-terephthalohydrazine L1 { [Cu2(L1)(hmt)·DMF] (1), Zn2(L1)(py)4·(py) (2), Ni2(L1)(py)6·4H2O (3), [Mn2(L1)(acac)2(H2O)2]·2DMF (4)}; complexes with N-salicylaldehyde-N'-(p-Methy-phenoxyacetyl) hydrazone L2 { [Cu2(L2)2·2DMF] (5), Cu(L2)(Him) (6), Ni(L2)(Him) (7), Cu(L2)(py) (8)}; complex with N-salicylaldehyde-N'-(o-Chloro-phenoxyacetyl) hydrazone L3 { Cu(L3)(Him) (9)}; complex with N-salicylaldehyde-N'-(o-Nitro-phenoxyacetyl) hydrazone L4 { Co(L4)(Mpl)2(OAc) (10)}; complexes with Diacetylmonooxime o-nitrobenoxyacetylhydrazone L5 { C12H14N4O5 (11), Ni(L5)2··DMF (12)}.The crystal structures of the title compounds have been studied. And the IR spectra, electronic spectra, fluorescence spectra, EPR spectra and thermal analyses of some selected compounds have been analyzed.The six donors of N1,N4-bissalicylaldehyde-terephthalohydrazine in complexes 1, 2, 3 and 4 are coordinated to two metal atoms to obtain binuclear structure. The binuclear copper complex molecules and hmt in complex 1 are connected together to form an infinite chain. The adjacent chains are linked by μ-o bridge of DMF molecules, resulting in an extended 2D network polymer.The neighboring complex molecules 5 are combined by N-N bridge, forming a 1Dstructure. The himidazol molecule with hydrogen bond bridges two neighboring complexmolecules in 6, 7 and 9, resulting in an extended 1D structure. The two mononuclear unitsare linked together to obtain a binuclear complex molecule 8 with Cu22-O)2 core. Thecoordinated morpholine molecules with hydrogen bond bridge structure units of cobaltcomplex, forming an extended 1D structure in 10. The complex 12 is an one-dimensionalhydrogen bonded polymer.
