Spontaneous combustion of sulfide minerals is one of the most serious disasters in the sulfur mines. The spontaneous combustion fires may endanger the safety of mine workers; the fires may lead to a serious of environmental problems, and resulting in a huge waste of mineral resources. The treatment of spontaneous combustion of sulfide ores is an important part of the production of sulfur mine.Based on the collection and access to relevant literature, systematic review was given to the mechanism of oxidation and self-heating, the status of comprehensive evaluation for the mine spontaneous combustion danger. The caking factors of sulfide ores were analyzed by the combination of theoretical analysis, experimental method and numerical analysis, and the indicators system and evaluation model of sulfide ores spontaneous combustion danger were built. The main research contents and results in this paper are as follows:(1) The fishbone diagram of factors that affect the sulfide ore spontaneous combustion was established, the main factors of sulfide ores spontaneous combustion was analyzed as well as the mechanism of the factors. The typical factors including ore grain size, moisture content, ambient temperature were studied by the oxygen inhalation speed method, the results showed that the change of the factors influent the spontaneous oxidation of the ores greatly.(2) The SPSS was used to analyze the correlation between different factors. The study showed that the oxygen speed indicator and oxidation weight gain indicator had high degree of correlation. The correlation of Fe2++Fe3+ion content, SO42-ion content, weight gain and oxygen uptake rate was not obvious. The correlation of Fe2++Fe3+ion content and SO42-ion content was relatively high. The sulphur content of sulfide ores and ignition point had a typical negative correlation. There was a linear regression equation:Y=-2.916X+485.001. There were no significant linear relationship between sulphur content and oxygen uptake rate. The correlation analysis laid the foundation for the simplify of relations and indexes.(3) By the experiment and correlation analysis,11of the indexes of risk evaluation for spontaneous combustion of sulfide ores were selected, the standardization and quantitative treatment were used, the risk grading standards were determined, the evaluation index system of the risk of spontaneous combustion for sulfide ores was established, the AHP was used as a simply grey treatment to make sure the index weight.(4) The relevant theoretical knowledge of the extension theory was introduced; the extension theory evaluation model of the risk of spontaneous combustion for sulfide ores was established. The model was applied in the mine area, the spontaneous combustion risk level of the five mine area was determined, the result of the risk of spontaneous combustion for sulfide ores which contributed by the model is reasonable.
