This thesis made research on the optical properties of molecular. the resonance Raman spectroscopy of beta carotene and canthaxanthin was measured at different temperature with variable temperature Raman method. The measurement results showed that short chain molecule beta carotene and canthaxanthin had lager cross section in liquid at room temperature, and the FWHM of Raman spectra is wide. With the reduction of temperature, the beta carotene and canthaxanthin changed into solid. The cross section increased. The FWHM of Raman spectra decreased.lt showed that the orderly degree of molecular structure increased. The interaction of molecular decreased.π electronic range expanded so molecular generated damped coherent lattice vibrations. Raman active, intensity of mix frequency increased.
