Electrospinning technology has been proved to be one of the significant methods to prepare low-dimensional nanomaterials owing to its simple operation,high efficiency and uniform sizes of the products in the preparation technologies of nanomaterials.Yttrium iron garnet(denoted as YIG for short) has excellent electromagnetic properties,and have been widely applied in the fields of optical isolators,phase shifters,microwave devices,et al.In recent years,special attention is focused on improvement of magnetooptics and dielectric properties of YIG via doping of rare earth ions.So,fabrication of rare earth ions-doped YIG low-dimensional magnetic nanomaterials via electrospinning and their performances are meaningful subjects of study.YIG,YIG:Nd3+,YIG:La3+,YIG:Sm3+,YIG:Dy3+and YIG:Gd3+magnetic nanofibers and nanobelts were prepared via electrospinning.The samples were characterized by x-ray diffractometry(XRD),field emission scanning electron microscope(FESEM),energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS),ultraviolet and visible spectrophotometer(Uv-vis) and vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM).The results showed that the diameters of that as-prepared rare earth doped YIG nanofibers were in narrow range,and the diameter was about120-180nm,there is no cross-linking among nanofibers.and the length was greater than100μm.The structure of as-prepared rare earth ions-doped YIG nanobelts with large width-to-thickness ratios were porous,the width of nanobelts was1.5-4μm,the thickness was ca.70-120nm,and the length was greater than500μm.The magnetic properties and photocatalytic properties of the samples were also investigated.Some meaningful results were obtained,and laid solid foundations for the future study of the properties of rare earth ions-doped YIG magnetic nanomaterials.
