The removal of CS2by pulsed corona was experimentallyinvestigated. The influences of operation parameters such as pulsevoltage, pulse frequency, gas initial mass concentration, gas compositionand water vapor on the removal of CS2were investigated. The removal ofCS2by pulsed corona combined with in situ absorption was alsoinvestigated.Experimental results showed that CS2could be removed effectivelyby pulsed corona. The removal of CS2increased with the increase ofpulse voltage and pulse frequency. It was found that the removal of CS2was higher in Ar gas than that in N2gas when the pulse voltage applied tothe reactor was20kV. The main product was confirmed to be sulfur. Itwas found that the removal of CS2decreased with the increase of the gasinitial concentration. The removal of CS2increased from44.9%to63.4%with the addition of20%O2in Ar gas. The removal of CS2increasedfrom44.9%to56.4%with the addition of50%water vapor in Ar gas.The main gaseous products of CS2decomposition were CO, CO2, COSand SO2. The harmful products such as SO2could be absorbed by Ca(OH)2with the combination of pulsed corona and in situ absorption. Theremoval of CS2also increased. The removal of CS2was increased by15%with the addition of20%O2gas in Ar gas, by17%with the addition of50%water vapor in Ar gas, respectively.
