In recent years, with the research of supramolecular chemistry becoming much more deeply, the modification of cucurbituril, the synthesis of host-guest assembley molecular machines and supramolecular systems based on cucurbituril are attracting more and more attention. Following the crown ether, cyclodextrin and calixarene, cucrubituril appears to be a new generation of macrocyclic compound. The cucurbituril owns outstanding physical and chemical properties different form the other three macrocyclics. With these properties, cucurbituril are used more and more frequently in supramolecular systems. On the other hand, we should also note that, although the cucurbituril has many advantages, its poor solubility still significantly restricted its wider application. Therefore, the research on improving the solubility of the cucurbituril is of great importance.In chapter Ⅱ, we researched the synthesis and separation of cucurbituril and its derivatives. Three kinds of cucurbituril derivatives which separately functionalized with piperazine, hydroxyl and hexamethylene recognition site were synthesized. The characterizations of these compounds were carried with1H NMR and MS spectra. To further investigate the research topic, we discussed the results and concluded some probable improve schemes.A new kind of reticulate molecular chain is researched in chapter Ⅲ. We have synthesized two systems in which the pyridine part was severally decorated with propyl group and cyanogroup. All the compounds are tested with1H NMR and MS spectra, UV-Visible absorption and Fluorescence spectra. We also use AFM to further investigate the structure of the reticulate molecular machine. We have affirmed that the second system which decorated with the cyanogroup could form the reticular molecular chain. It will be a good learning for building up more ordered and complicated reticular molecular chain in the future.
