With the technology of semiconductor laser pumped continuous development and preparation process of optical materials increasingly improving, fiber lasers are widely used in national defense, communications, mechanical processing and other fields. It has become one of the numerous hot research topics that multi-component glass doped with Yb3+could be used as the working medium of fiber laser.In this paper, the research object is laser glass of silicate system doped with Yb3+ion, after designing the glass formulation, the method of high-temperature melting was used to melt the three kinds of glass system as follow:silicate, borosilicate and phosphorus silicate. The interrelated of those three systems’component and performance was systematic studied by means of Abbe refractometer, the XRD analysis, differential thermal analysis, absorption spectrum and fluorescence spectrum, it was deeply researched that the effects of each component on the performance parameters related to the silicate laser glass.Meanwhile, in order to improve the properties of Yb3+laser spectrum in multi-component silicate glass, introduced Nd2O3as sensitizer for the Nd3+/Yb3+co-doped experiments,by the contrast experiment of three different multi-component laser glass system,finally get a new laser fiber materials of GYN6with Nd3+/Yb3+=1:8, σabs (λp)=1.3696pm2.∑abs=7.5686X104pm3,σRM-emi=1.8558pm2, Arad=1907s-1,τf=410μs.
