Fuel Gas Modification For The HTM Furnace Used In PET Plant

As the most important equipment for PET heating, the HTM furnace plays anindispensable role in polyester plant. At the same time, how to improve the effect ofHTM furnace is also the main research direction currently. Our theme comes fromproject of Luoyang Petrochemical Complex. Because of the low level of the oldautomatic equipment, it always makes faults and brings huge losses to polyester plant.In order to clear this hidden trouble completely, it’s necessary to update the combustioncontrol system with more advanced and stable control way.On the basis of necessity analysis of HTM furnace fuel gas modification, the serialcontrol plan for export pressure of HTM furnace and the PLC implement of combustioncontrol system were developed. The structure, application and characteristic of PETsystem and HTM furnace were introduced firstly, and the fuel gas modification of HTMfurnace was suggested. The serial control plan of outlet pressure and flow rate of fuel oilwas proposed. Furthermore, the hardware configuration and software design ofmodification plan were determined. Finally, for the consideration to the hightemperature of gas emission, the old heat exchanger was replaced with the heatexchange system of using water as heating medium and air preheating in waste heatrecovery system in order to improve the efficiency of HMT furnace.In the present thesis, a brief summary and outlook were also proposed. The newcontrol plan was applied in our system. With the new control scheme, the plant becomesmore stable and safer.
