In recent years, along with the application of large-scale blast furnace andoxygen-rich pulverized coal injection technology at home and abroad, so that the cokeratio dropped substantially, coke in a blast furnace residence time longer, moreprominent column and skeleton, which asks for higher requirements of coke quality.Larger Coke oven and CDQ impact on the quality of coke has more obviousadvantages, taking these technology has become an important way to realize acoordinate, healthy and sustainable development of the coking industry. To this end,with the fierce market competition and increasingly tension of high-quality cokingcoal resources, to carry out a large volume of coke oven under CDQ technology andcoke performance study are of strategic significance to the development of iron andsteel enterprises.In this work, influence of coal quality indicator, coking technology and processmanagement on coke quality was analyzed base on extensive collective data. Underexisting coal resource of Baotou steel enterprise, we made research on coal quality ofevery single coal and some newly developed coal. A series of single and multiplepores test of small and large oven were carried out to get the optimum blending coalplan under CDQ process in large scale coke oven.Under the same condition of coal blending ratio and coking technology, ourstudy focus on the effect of CDQ process on microstructure composition, porosity, hotand cold strength and coke size.Under the conditions of different coal blending ratio and to get equal coal quality,researches were made under CDQ technology in large volume coke oven to find themost reasonable coal blending plan, so as to give full play to the advantage of largevolume coke oven and CDQ process.Traditional coal quantity test and blending technology were employed in theexperiment, meanwhile, petrographic technique was used to scientifically determinethe blending ratio. On the other hand, coal blending and coke performance undercertain blending ratio were further investigated through the20kg oven test and theporous volume of coke oven industrial test. The results show that strengthening the management of blending fineness is thekey factor to improve the quantity of coke. Facing the shortage of coking coalresources, the development and study of new coal and application is partic ularlyimportant. Compared with4.3m coke oven, the large volume6m coke oven coke hassignificantly improved the coke quantity. Under CDQ process, the mechanicalstrength (M40) of coke prepared by6m coke oven was increased by3%~4%, M10wasincreased by1%, and meanwhile the thermal performance of coke was alsosignificantly improved.
