Dragline is one of the most important open-pit mining machinery equipment, themain applications in the field of mining. Dragline is a large-scale open-pit miningconstruction machinery, set mining, transport and dump three jobs in a body. Thetriangular structure of the tower (hereinafter referred to as a tripod) is the maincharacteristics of components, but also the main support structure.The tripod is a large-scale structure made of welded H-shaped steel and steel pipe,finite element method commonly is used in the process of engineering structure designcalculations. The article uses the ANSYS finite element analysis software, to establish afinite element model of the dragline tripod, to carry static and dynamic analysis. Themain content of the paper include the following three parts:1Establishment of the tripod finite element modelTo establish directly the tripod finite element model according to tripod structure inAnsys12.0. In the process of meshing, beam element BEAM188is selected from theelement types in Ansys12.0, specific cross-section shape of the unit is specified, so thatthe analysis of the results closer to the actual situation. The number of the whole units is1183, the one of nodes is3396.2Static analysis of the tripod structureBased on the tripod finite element model, Simulated working conditions tripodunder the different boom inclination, obtainer the deformation cloud image and thestress distribution of the tripod model as a whole and of X are got in all conditions, anddata is display in the form of the tripod of the internal forces, while the strength andstiffness of the tripod are checked by the allowable stress method.3Dynamic analysis of the tripod structureDragline caused larger dynamic stress at work cause the destruction of tripod steel,so the dynamic design of the dragline tripod is an extremely important part. The paperestablishes a triangle dynamic model on ANSYS software and dynamic analysis ontriangle. In this paper the dynamic analysis includes modal analysis and wind loadresponse analysis.(1) Modal analysisThe Modal Analysis of the tripod is finished and extracted from the naturalfrequency of the first6of the tripod structure and mode shapes in Ansys12.0, then analyze the results, to determine the vibration characteristics of the tripod, lay thefoundation for the other dynamic analysis.(2) Wind load response analysisAnalysis and calculations of Wind load response on a tripod, and finished inAnsys12.0. The wind load of Wind scale is imposed on the tripod, and obtained theamount of deformation and stress distribution of the tripod, and then analyze the results.The results were proved that the anti-wind design requirement of dragline operationswas meet under different wind scale.
