This rapid prototyping technology for the manufacture ofcomplex impeller to achieve quickly and directly without mold, precision CNC millingtechnology was combinated with Plasma Deposition, to overcome the effects caused byrapid prototyping since the forming step accuracy problems and improve the impeller’soverall quality. Plasma Deposition and Milling composite prototyping and manufacturingas a whole wheel, greatly reducing the development cycle and costs of production.In this paper, Deposition and milling manufacturing principles was researched, and itwas also analyzed that the characteristics in the three axis or five-axis milling process ofthe deposition materials.Developed a solution of a fan-shaped impeller blade three-axis millingdepositedcomposite manufacturing.In the procees, the HPDM software was used togenerates deposited NC code; In the UG CAM environment, the preparation of the millingand finishing processing path was programed, and changed into NC code, bypost-processing. culminating a composite blade was successfully produced on theLaboratory’s Deposition&Milling machine.Developed a solution to Manufacture the overall impeller by Deposition formingcomplexed five-axis milling.The cylindrical slice method was used to the preparation ofthe leaves of four-axis NC code deposited.In the UG NX7.5software enviroment, uniqueimpeller programming module was used to quickly preparated the five-axis miillingprogram of the whole impeller.According to "3+AC" five-axis machine tool kinematics transform, thepost-processing transformation formulas were derived. According to these formulas, it was created that the post-processing with plot formelting compound five-axis milling machine,which was used to generate five-axis milling NC code of the impeller five-axis milling.InVERICUT software environment, a five-axis CNC machinesimulation platform wascreated.And then, the milling process of the fan impeller blades and the whole impellerwas simulated in order to verify the reliability of the processing code. Besides, a wholeimpeller of aluminum alloy was successfully milled. |
