The energy saving and emission reduction which has become the focus of attention ofthe world’s energy sector is an important guarantee for the development of recyclingeconomy. The main work of this paper is to improve Forced Exhaust Gas Water Heater airchamber structure in order to improve the water heater thermal efficiency at the same timereduce the content of harmful gases in the flue gas, and ultimately achieving the purpose ofenergy saving and emission reduction. This paper briefly introduces the development of water heater, the current situationand development tendency of Gas Water Heater. And then using the heat balance equationanalyzes the factors affecting the thermal efficiency of gas water heaters, providing atheoretical basis to improve water heater efficiency. Then analyze and provideimprovement measurement about the issues occurred in Forced Exhaust Gas Water Heater, while checking the measurement that can achieve ideal result whether or not byexperimental method. Experiments show that having done some appropriate improvementsto the water heater, oxygen and carbon monoxide in the flue gas will reduce as well as theexhaust gas temperature. After determining an optimal improvement program, the physical models of airchamber and combustion chamber can be established. According to the data obtained in theexperiment, set the model parameters and boundary conditions. Then simulating the modelwith Fluent software, the distribution of velocity cloud, pressure cloud and componentcloud can be obtained. We can came to the following conclusion by contrasting the figuresbefore&after improvement: the primary air flow is more smoothly, an entrainmentcoefficient greater gas and air mixing is more fully and the distribution of gas mixture ismore uniform in fire outlet. By calculating the entrainment ratio of the water heater raised19.6%.The conclusion drawn by experimental method and simulation indicates that: aftermodification, the gas in the combustion chamber is more fully burning, better heat transfereffect of high temperature flue gas with cold water, the water heater’s gas utilization rate improves while reducing the carbon monoxide content in the gas to achieve the purpose ofenergy saving and emission reduction.
