As valuable luminescence material rare earth organic carboxylic complexes have the merits of good luminescence quality, high luminescence intensity et al. In recent years, the design and synthesis of rare earth complexes with aromatic carboxylic acid ligands have attracted considerable attention, for its conjugated structures. Liquid crystalline metallomesogenic polymers as a new field of the study of liquid crystal polymers have the properties of complexes and liquid crystal. Making use of this special property, these complexes require sufficient attention of other researchers and have potential applications as analytic determination, molecular biology, clinical chemistry, materials and environment science. In this paper, six Eu(Ⅲ) complexes have been synthesized with four kinds of organic carboxylic acid, include two complexes (C1and C2) with a single ligand and four complexes (C3~C6) with two different ligands. In this paper, three monomers containing cholesterol and menthol were synthesized. Two series of SLCIs containing monomer Mi,4-allyloxylbenzoic acid and undecylenic acid were synthesized by grafing reaction. And two series of liquid crystalline metallomesogenic polymers containing SLCIs and benzoic acid were synthesized and measurement. Moreover, the obtained four ternary complexes (C3-C6) and all the polymers are novel.IR spectroscopy, UV absorption spectrum, luminescence spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermo gravimetric analyses (TGA) and polarizing optical microscopy (POM) were used to study the structure, luminescence quality, liquid crystal properties of this complexes, polymers and monomers. The six complexes and two series of liquid crystalline metallomesogenic polymers all show the characteristic luminescence spectra of central Eu(Ⅲ) ions; The three monomers were cholesteric liquid crystalline and exhibited oily streak texture and focal conic texture, which were the typical textures of cholesteric phase. |
