Powder material moisture is an important research direction of the water-content measurement field, this article mainly aims at sinter mixture in the sinter plant. It is always a troubled researchers’problem to measure the water content of sinter mixture in sintering process. Analyzing the traditional measuring instrument, the main reason is that it takes a long time to mixture the sinter material. The traditional measuring methods are taking measurement outside of the mixing canister on the conveyor belt. Therefore, the hysteretic measuring is difficult to solve.This topic is brought for solving the hysteretic problem, and creatively presents that set the measuring point into the mixing canister, so it can solve the hysteretic problem fundamentally. According to the particularity of the new idea, the instrument introduced new low-power consumption and wireless communications techniques, so it can get rid of the traditional measuring data transmission and power supply. The instrument becomes a battery powered wireless meter, and more suitable for actual needs of the rotary mixing canister.Based on the comprehensive consideration of the industrial field environment and electrical conductivity type water detection theory, combined with the existing measuring circuit, the special wireless low-power water-content meter is proposed in the paper to complete the overall design of the instrument and improve the system structure design and stability. Add display meter to show water-content and receive wireless data. Designing PC software is used to analyse, calculate, display and store moisture measurement data, it will be convenient of watching the data to draw the curve. Combined with the existing sensor, the design of sensor was improved. After repeated practice on the sensor, each parameter of sensor is determined.The whole system uses the special treatment, waterproof and dustproof. All instruments in wiring have been carefully considered, and accord with the actual requirement in the industrial field. Now it is possible for measuring system to be introduced into the factory.Through a lot of measurement experiments and performance tests, they all proved that complete system can work long-term stability, a charge can last two months, have good stability and precision of measurement. Through the static calibration of sinter mixture, choose the proper fitting method. The experiment indicates that the measurement error of the instrument is0.25%, meets the actual demands in the industrial field.
