With rapid economic development, the demand for high-precision round-steel is rising sharply in industrial and high technology erea. But in the process of productiond, processing, that will exist external force, uneven heating and cooling, transportation, stacking and so on, it will produce bending and distortion in different degree which will affect the quality of finished products. These defects are necessary to be eliminated in production by straightening.The current roll shape theories and the processes of the calculation are complicate. As a result, the efficiency of the roller designing is low, and the cycle of the producing is long. Most of the roller was obtained through the designing with hands or using the empircal formula. First this article studied the basic theory about straightening of the tube and bar and established theorical mathematical model of thin-walled tube straightening. It had a clear distinction between the thin and thick wall tube for straightening method. Then I drawed the precise function cure used the Matlab software. Second based on the roundwood straightening theory and the bending and elasticity theories, I developed an application that can calculate straightening precision precisely and provide the theoretical basis for the straightening roller design and give the Cw. Third Based on the Cw, it developed the CAD system about the roller, utilizing the function of the SolidWorks API and Visual Basic. Finally I analyzed the parameters of the roll angle and the roll gap in the straightening process.The secondary development interface is simple and practical based on the revised straightening theory, and even non-professionals can operate it. It improved the accuracy of roll shape, demonstrated the limitations or inaccuracy of the previous roll design and opened a new road for roll design. It changed the history of the qualitative analysis for roll angle and roll gap. Now we can achieve accurate calculation of roll angle and roll gap. That not only reduces the debugging process of the machine, more importantly, increases the quality of straightening.
