Since the mid-19th century rubber has become an important engineering material. Asits good flexibility and easy deformability, it is widely used in the car, springs, seals, cushioning pad, couplings and tires of the load structure. With the improving of people’smaterial living standards, people pay more and more attention to its durability andsecurity. Therefore, it is of great importance to study the experiment of the rubber. In recent years, in the experimental studies of the rubber material, the experimentalstudy based on the rubber stretch has become a hot topic at home and abroad. A lot ofworks have been done in the rubber tensile test thus we developed a large number ofmethods and founded a variety of models. In this paper, we do tensile tests of rubber byusing three different loading with laboratory uniaxial tensile instrument, a simpleself-designed plane tensile grips and biaxial tensile grips. We discuss the rubbermechanical properties tightly around the stress-strain curve, which provides atheoretical and experimental basis for the future research of new rubber tensile grips andtensile methods. The main content of this article are as follows:1) Plane tensile grips, biaxial tensile grips have been designed and are applied to theexperiment.2) Stretching the rubber by using uniaxial tension, uniaxial cyclic loading, biaxialtension and plane tension, which provides the basic data for finite element analysis.3) Data obtained in the tensile test of the rubber was imported into abaqus to do datafitting. Thus simulating the entire experimental process by using of the Mooney-Rivlinmodel. How to obtain accurate data is analyzed and it is verified that the feasibility of asimple biaxial tensile grips.
