In recent years, with the rapid development of our economy and theincreasing population, urbanization development and land use change is the hot spotand the frontier of current research, urban land use and land cover changes greatpattern, the contradiction between economic development and ecological environmentis more and more outstanding.Different urbanization process brings different change of land use. According tothe actual situation of the urbanization process of Zhengzhou city, we chose Huiji andJinshui districts as our research area, with the support of RS and GIS technology,determined the stage of the urbanization process of two study areas, analyzed thespace-time evolution characteristics of city land use, according to the applicationprinciple and method of landscape ecology, this paper probed into the landscapepattern of land use change, discussed the ecological effect change from theperspective of ecological service function change in the study area, and appliedqualitative analysis on the driving mechanism of land use change. The mainconclusions of the study and the results are as follows:In the process of urbanization, Huiji area was in the intermediate stage ofurbanization, urbanization was in rapid development period. And Jinshui district wasin the latter stage of urbanization, the urbanization development was basic stability.Time in research, urbanization rate of Huiji area grew faster than Jinshui district, butJinshui district had the higher urbanization rate.In the land use quantity change, between2004~2009, two study area were bothin the evolution period, their urbanization processes were still ongoing. Huiji area, aswas in the intermediate stage of urbanization, all kinds of types of land use changedfrequently and intensely; And Jinshui district, as in the late stage of urbanization, hadthe higher urbanization level, the degree of land use and dynamic were both in highlevels, and the development was more stable.In the land use changes in space, between2004~2009years: in Huiji area, thegrowth of construction land had a spontaneous, far-flung appearance; And Jinshuidistrict, its construction land presented a planning, skipping and far-flung expansiontype.In the landscape pattern, from2004to2009, the diversity index of Huiji area grew continuously, and the landscape heterogeneity further changed, landscapefragmentation degree was higher and higher; in Jinshui district, the diversity indexwas decreasing, and the advantage patches gradually formed a good continuity.In ecological service function, during2004~2009, the ecological service functionof two research areas were both in great decline. The ecological service value of Huijiarea lost149.5289million yuan in five years, lkm2land lost of642300yuan on average;Ecological service value of Jinshui district lost59.2909million yuan, lkm2land lostof244800yuan on average. The ecological service function loss of Huiji area wasmuch more than that of Jinshui district.In the driving forces, the main factors, which impacted study area land usechange, were population factors, economic factors and policy factors.
