Slope stability is the basis for open pit mine safe and efficient production.With thedevelopment in construction and mining of open pit coal mine, the problem of slopestability is standing out. Especially in the soft rock slope’s deformation instability. Howscientific evaluation of soft rock open pit slope stability, reasonable stability of thecontrol measures, the open pit mining engineering and technical personnel to address theproblem. Integrated use of engineering geological reconnaissance,Theoreticalanalysis,Limit equilibrium method, numerical simulation and other methods. there hasan systematic study on soft rock dumping along the south slope stability of Baiyinhuaopen pit mine.The paper is according to the Baiyinhua open pit mine’s hydrogeologicalinvestigation and engineering geological prospecting, analysis the influence to slopestability from stratal configuration and ground water. Analysis the potential break modelof Baiyinhua open pit mine’s south slope. Application of rigid body limit equilibrinmmethod on sound a number of south slope stability of open-pit coal mine, Based on limitequilibrium theory, simplified Bishop method,residual thrust method and analysis ofslope stability,use the FLAC3Dwith numerical simulation in slope stability, distributionof rock mass stress,displacement distribution and plastic zone, announce the mechanismof side slope’s coast and at last confirm the landslide model. According to the result ofnumerical simulation, put forward the corresponding slope treatment schemes, to ensurethe stability of the slope,mine safe production of objective, is a very real significantwork.
