Turndown collar is a collar combination stand collar and turndown collar, which is important to the apparel’s quality and affects the apparel pattern-making. This study researches the relationship of3-dimensional to2-dimensional transformation on turndown collar. When the turndown collar is made by thick fabric, the outer arclength of linear turndown collar will produce missing value, therefore we need to add on the missing value to make the outside collar fold easily and look flat and smooth. This study pays close attention to five factors——the height of the collar stand、the width of the collar top、the side angle of the collar、the size of straight neck line and the fabric thickness, which influence on the collar pattern-making and the outer arclength of linear turnover collar.This study discusses the research from three experiments, while the experimental object is Donghua basic block which amended in2010. The study is based on the block and get the relevant changes on the structural parameters to make experimental samples by connecting the techniques of the plane plate and draping.First of all, this study researches the five factors that one of the factors changes and the others unchange influence on the collar pattern-making and the outer arclength of linear turndown collar separately.What’s more, it gets16combinations of different collar structural parameters by making the four factors that are the height of the collar stand、the width of the collar top、the side angle of the collar and the size of straight neck line to design an orthogonal experiment. And then, collar samples are made by four different kinds of thick fabric. In this experiment, it is focused the influence of fabric thickness on the total variation.The last experiment analyzes all of the parameters to design an orthogonal experiment referring to the structural effect-results which can be summarized in the experiments of the different parameters. And SPSS software analyze the dates by the method of Correlation Analysis, Range Analysis, Variance Analysis and Stepwise Regression Analysis. The linear regression equations will be made, which reflects five factors have a bearing on the collar pattern-making and the outer arclength of linear turndown collar. It will frame and achieve the MFC human-computer interaction system of turndown collar pattern-making on the basis of received Regression Analysis. It is supposed that this system has made some contribution to the collar pattern-making. And then, it will be verified the correctness of the conclusions by making validation experiments.The innovative point of this paper is that it puts the side angle of the collar into consideration to widen and elaborate the factors of pattern-making, and it also consider that fabric thickness has influence on the collar pattern-making and the outer arclength of linear turndown collar in the turning points of human neck. This study makes practical amendments and supplement on the turnover collar pattern-making.
