Crusher is the machine that makes the big particle materials become the small particle materials, and we designate this process as broken.Material breakage is a process that widely used in metallurgy, mining, building material, chemical, electric power industries and so on. It is the key process of mineral processing and prepares for the usage of the materials and the next processing. In the coking plants, sintering plants, building materials, powder metallurgy and others, the material block is noramlly bigger than others. These departments require that the materials which available for the next processing must be under certain granularity.However, at this time the domestic crusher design is more conservative, bulky, low efficiency, high energy consumption and its broken quality still has a relatively big gap compared with the foreign products. Therefore, this subject is based on advanced crushing theory (interparticle breakage) and adopts modern design optimization technology to the H8800cone crusher which made by Sweden Sandvik Company and used by the sintering plant subordinated by the Anshan Iron and Steel Factory. The purpose is to improve the cone crusher chamber shape, make new chamber shape adapt to ore nature, comply with the advanced interparticle breakage and try to keep crusher chamber shape relatively stable in the period of usage. These provide the basis for developing crusher of new style,high efficiency, energy saving, environment protection and independent knowledge property right.Based on the analysis of the current cone crusher chamber structure and plates’ wearing characteristics, the crusher chamber section contour is drawed according to structure parameters. In the chamber shape outline, several points are taken. Assuming the cubic spline function can describe optimum chamber shape curve, we can calculate each point value of curve in coordinates by the cubic spline interpolation function. Thus the plate curves are described analytically. Based on some properties of interpolation function, the function values and the first derivative values of each point are solved. The function values determine the shape of plates and the derivative values is local nip angle. Accordingly the nip angle conditions, through ability and boundary conditions are set.According to the modern design optimization theory, considering the productivity model as objective function and the nip angle conditions, through ability and boundary conditions as constraint conditions, we establish cone crusher chamber shape optimization model. Chamber shape improving is converted into multivariate constrained nonlinear problem solution. The optimal functions in the Matlab is used to solve optimization problem, then the minimum value of objective function is found by this way.Based on the optimal solution of optimization, the curve fitting function of Matlab is used to draw the chamber shape section of cone crusher.
