Cone crusher is one of large devices in concentrators. It not only plays an important role in the mineral processing, but also has been widely used in metallurgical mine and architect trades. In recent years, the theory of "more crushing less grinding" has been put forward, and the amount of raw ores has increased. The existing cone crushers can’t fully meet the needs of social production. In this paper, structural parameters and performance parameters of cone crusher are calculated and optimized. Not only work performance and productivity but also quality of products broken is improved in cone crusher.Based on the lamination crushing theory, the working mechanism of the cone crusher is studied thoroughly in this paper. According to motion characteristics of bulk materials, three states of motion of bulk materials in crushing cavity are analyzed. Under the premise of critical speed through crushing chamber at the route of free-fall trajectory, crushing chamber is divided by layer, and actual compression ratio of each broken layer is obtained with area method used.Based on the principle of fixed mass, the material filling blocking in the layer degree and the relationship between the compression ratio is established by studying the repose of the material in the crushing cavity trajectory and hierarchical classification of crushing cavity. The productivity of the cone crusher and the productivity calculation precision of the model has been improved, and the feasibility and reliability of the model also was verified by a certain type of the crusher manufacturer.According to the population balance model, select function model and breakage function model had been established. Through simulating the experiment, this paper analyzed the experimental data processing by laminating crushing rock press. Then it got the corresponding choice function and broken function through. Finally it has to achieve the target which it can predict and control the broken product particle size distribution.In this paper, productivity is seen as the main target and broken product particle size distribution is seen as the nonlinear constraints. Multi-objective optimization model of the cone crusher is established. Four design variables which influence productivity and particle size distribution of broken products are analyzed. On the premise of guarantee the quality of products, the productivity of the crusher is improved through programming optimization.
