In contemporary society, rare earth elements are known as the "industrial oil ", which arewidely used in aerospace, magnetic materials, electronics, petrochemical industry, metallurgy, machinery, energy, light industry, environmental protection, agriculture and other areas. Withthe research of rare earth elements, more and more higher purity of rare earth elements arerequired.. Following the partitioning and transmutation concept for safe treatment anddisposal of high radioactive waste (HLW), the search for suitable extractants for recovery oflong lived actinides and fission products is very important.3-Oxa-glutaramide (DGA), a new kind of amide extractant, was recently introduced.DGA has an ether oxygen between two amide groups and the three oxygen atoms can sronglycapture the rare earth elements and acts as tridentate ligands. Between the extractant and theactinides, it can produce a stable complex through the bonding. In view of the specialstructure of3-oxa-glutaramide, it will be a kind of potencial extractant in the future. Thedisposal process and recovery flow of copper (II) played a very important role in botllhydrometallurgical and nuclear process, but the behavior of copper (II) with amide andpodand extractants was rarely reported. In this paper we tried to synthesis five bicycle-diamide compounds and has synthesisdtetrabutylla-3-oxy-glutaramide (TBDGA) and dimethyl-dioctyl-3-oxy-glutaramides(DMDODGA). The extraction behavior and mechanism were investigated from hydrochloricacid system. The main contents were as follows:1. Five bicycle-diamide compounds was tried to synthesized andtetrabutylla-3-oxy-glutaramide (TBDGA) and dimethyl-dioctyl-3-oxy-glutaramides(DMDODGA) were synthesized. These compounds have characterized by nuclear magneticresonance, infrared spectrum, high performance liquid and other detecting methods.2. The influence of hydrochloric acid concentration, sodium chloride concentration, extractants concentration, temperature on distribution ratio of extraction of copper (II) bytetrabutylla-3-oxy-glutaramide (TBDGA) and dimethyl-dioctyl-3-oxy-glutaramides(DMDODGA) were investigated. The extraction ratioincreased rwith the concentration ofhydrochloric acid or ectractants increasing. But the ratio decreased when the temperatureraised which indicated that the extraction reaction was radiative.3. The study of dimethyl-dioctyl-3-oxy-glutaramides (DMDODGA) for the extraction ofYb (III) and Sm (III) elements was also investigated.
