The Study On Emotional Design And Kansei Engineering System’s Development Of Office Suit

Emotional design is a new technique beginning with people’s emotion whose purposeis to design those products that can meet people’s emotional needs, which includes avariety of theories, such as Kansei Engineering, so it has became one of the hottest topic inthe design field. At the present, the study on emotional design not only has small number,but also has shallow depth and single tools in domestic academia. Office suit is a kind offashion, and its consumer group is White-collar worker who pursue more emotional needsof products than others. In the new century, consumer demand of office suit has changed,but the existing office suit design has developed slowly. Therefore, it is necessary to studyoffice suit with Kansei Engineering.This thesis took office suit as an example, and its theoretical foundation is KanseiEngineering, and it analyzed emotional design, which can establish relationship betweenconsumers’emotion and shape factors, and expounded the thought how to develop KanseiEngineering system of composite office suit. In the first place, it collected photos offashionable office suit within two years. Secondly, it gained representative samples andrepresentative Kansei words from investigation with multidimensional scaling, clusteranalysis and factor analysis method synthetically. Thirdly, it investigated consumers withsemantic differential method to transfer Kansei image of representative samples toquantitative forms. Then, it simulated the relationship between consumers’Kansei imageand element of office suit with BP neural network, and outputted the score of Kanseiimage’s evaluation with network, which can be data basis of forward-type office suit’sretrieval system. It established linear model with multiple regression analysis andcompared result of simulation and output of network, which proved the output of networkwas credible. Meanwhile, it analyzed the relationship between Kansei image and elementof office suit with regression, which can be reasoning of reverse-type office suit’sevaluation system. Finally, it expounded the process how to establish composite Kansei Engineering system that can search office suit and Kansei evaluation at the same time withVB programming language and Access database. The model and system will be veryworthy to develop office suit that can meet consumers’Kansei needs, to help consumers tomake better choice, to assist designer design and to predict design effect for enterprise. Inthe meantime it offered a valuable research method to study other suits by Kansei.
