Kansei Research On Women Suit Collar By Psychological Experiments

Women suit is a kind of the most important modern dresses in women’s workplace and social fields, which can manifest female independence, self-confidence and capabilities. As located in the visual center, the collar is an important part of female suit, which is influential to the appearance and performance of the external quality of women suit. As a result, it is significant to study consumers’ perceptual of women suit collar, and to reflect these demands in the designs.This paper is based on Kansei engineering; the flat collar and no collar female suit are research objects. To do the experiments, psychology research method is used and college students are chosen as subjects. First, to summarize modeling elements of different collar types, to determine their changing scope and levels, and to draw the level combination of elements into a series of stimulus picture; then using the E-prime psychology experiment system to obtain different subjects’ perceptual of the sense of perfection and professionalism of different collar stimulation pictures; and finally importing the corresponding conclusions into SPSS software to do a comprehensive analysis.Results of this study, the first is to determine the key design elements and the optimal level combination of female suit collar; secondly, through the analysis of different gender and different professional subjects, design recommendations are given for different consumer groups; and finally, the establishment of a series of regression models for women suit collar can predict and evaluate the designs, which can guide the development of female suit style, and to help the product recognized by consumers and market.
