The subject comes from the National Natural Science Foundation project 《theresearch on the generation mechanism and rejection techniques of modified asphaltfume in high temperature conditions》.At present, most asphalt pavement in China choose the hot mix asphalt, heated to160℃~180℃when been used, at that time large amounts of harmful gases will beproduced, which not only harmful to the physical and mental health of constructionworkers, have a negative impact on construction machinery, but also reduce pavementquality. For this purpose, we need to study one or several kinds of fume suppressant,after mixing them with hot mix asphalt, asphalt would reduce the amount of fume,and has no affect on the asphalt road performance.First of all, by combining the asphalt dust properties and adsorption principle,comparing the adsorption properties of ceramic filter, polypropylene fiber, cotton,glass fiber, activated carbon and the medical cotton, this paper selected thepolypropylene fibers of cotton because of tts best adsorption effect on the asphaltfume.Based on the gravimetric method, on the basis of the original experimentalsystem, asphalt smoke evaluation system proposed the technology of vacuum freezeto avoid the influence from water to the experimental data. Join the air flow meter todetermine the optimal experimental conditions are: airflow1L/min, mixing state,continuous heating for3hours at180℃. Joined the Techno-Ice and the incubator, theasphalt smoke in the process of adsorption can be quickly attached to thepolypropylene fiber cotton instead of volatizing. Seven Erlenmeyer flasks whichadsorbed2000g of the smoke generated by the asphalt is needed by the system toverify. Stable experimental data are got by after a large number of experiments of dustcollection, and ultimately determine the set of asphaltThen, by studying the characteristics of asphalt oxidative in a continuous hotstate, combined with the asphalt dust component analysis identified the idea ofreducing asphalt fume: added fume suppressant to the asphalt, the choice of thedirection of the fume suppressant: inhibition of free radical generation and polycyclicaromatic hydrocarbons volatile, elected several possible fume suppressant:expanded graphite, phthalocyanine blue, coumarone resin and C9petroleum resin,verify the effect of suppression of the fume suppressant by the self-developedevaluation system.Finally, choose the expansion graphite and coumarone resin who has a betterfume suppression to has the three indicators analysis, test results show that the threeindicators of the asphalt will have a certain amount of degradation after adding fumesuppressant, the next experiment is considered to resolve the problem of fumesuppression asphalt road performance by the compound modified.
