Abstract/Summary:
Bis-indolylmethane compound have significant medicinal value,especially they haveachieved gratifying successes,which took precautions against and treated cancer andtumour.Because of calix[n]arene sulfonic acids of structural feature,by molecular decorateadjusting water-solubility and lipid-solubility. They are widely used in the biology andmedicine,environment,molecular recognition and industry,et al.In this text,the reaction ofindole with aromatic aldehydes produces bis-indolylmethane compound.In thereaction,calix[n]arene sulfonic acids as the catalyst. Have achieved the following experientalresults.1.According to literatures, we synthesized p-t-butylcalix[4]arene andcalix[4]arene,which were considered to be parent compounds. By sulfonation achievingcalix[4]arene sulfonic acid. At the same time,we synthesized Sodiump-Sulfonatocalix[4]arene.We synthesized tetra-propyl-etherified p-sulfocalix[4]arene andtetra-butyl-etherified p-sulfocalix[4]arene by alkylation. The compounds were characterizedby1H NMR, IR spectrums,which were confirmed as the final products.2.In a typical procedure,structurally diverse aldehydes were mixed with2eq.of indoleand in water at room temperature in the presence of calix[n]arene sulfonic acids as a reusableand efficient catalyst to give the corresponding bis-indolylmethanes in excellent yields. Forexample, compound9(C23H18N2),compound10(C23H17ClN2),compound11(C24H20N2),compound12(C24H20N2O),compound13(C23H17N3O2).These compounds werecharacterized by1H NMR, IR spectrums,which were confirmed as the finalproducts.Calix[n]arene sulfonic acids as a catalyst show high catalytic activity,only anextremely small amount,we can gain an excellent yield.At the same time, they can be reusedin the next cycle directly. After recycling seven times, the catalytic activity for the aqueousreaction still remained at a high level.Because of their synthetic efficiency and environmentalfriendliness,according with the demands of the green Chemistry.
