In recent years, the heavy metal cadmium pollution, which has great impact on human health, is more and more serious, thus effective monitoring on the heavy metal cadmium is imperative. This study introduces the current research progress of the messuring method of heavy metal cadmium and makes a system evaluation of the main function parameter and other factors of continuous emission monitoring system for the pollution source, that is, the heavy metal cadmium, with the technical support of seven online monitoring companies(A, B, C, D, E, F, G) in Hunan Province. The results are as follows:Firstly, it gives an investigation of general situation of seven domestic monitoring equipment manufacturers of cadmium, and it studies and analyzes their products, basic principles, specific performance index, application, etc..Secondly, through the investigation of all manufacturers of the equipment performance, including the linearity, zero drift, span drift, reproducibility, limits of detection, voltage stability, insulation resistance, average trouble-free running time etc, it compares their actual sample application and gets the Instrument Performance of different equipments.Thirdly, through the comparison experiment, the electrochemical monitoring of heavy metal cadmium can achieve good results with low detection limit, Not only it is applicable to the measuring of cadmium in general industrial wastewater, and it is applicable to the measuring of cadmium in complex smelting and chemical industry wastewater.While the classical colorimetric method, due to its own principle limit, needs a pH6-9color environment, with a higher limit of detection, it is applicable to the measuring of cadmium in general industrial wastewater.Finally, the results of the study offer a scientific and theoretical basis for the selection and promotion of provincal online monitoring system of pollution source of heavy metal cadmium, ensuring a long-term and stable operation of online monitoring system of pollution sources of heavy metals cadmium and providing timely, accurate, and effective monitoring data. Besides, effective guidance is provided to consumers of heavy metal cadmium continuous monitoring equipments and to the manufacturers to improve instrument performance.
