This dissertation discusses the design technology that is applied to the continuous casting mould state monitoring system.This system is composed of two main parts. One is the state monitoring system of the mechanical continuous slab casting mould; another is the state monitoring system of the oscillation continuous slab casting mould. The basic experimental model is completed, which is built on the mathematical modeling and methods, the analysis of the continuous casting mould's structure, the fieldwork requirements, synthesis of its technical parameters' characteristic. Each monitor unit can monitor several machines condition at the same time. It collects and analyses vibration and switch signals from different channels, and displaies various plots and charts of signals monitored on-line, and processes alarm events and history data automatically.This dissertation presents holistic design of the system, hardware design and software design. The software is easy to be operated and runs reliably, which is developed strictly under the software engineering. Module programming which can shorten the developing time and make it easy to be rebuilt is adopted. This system design achieves prospective requirements.The design puts emphasis on the reliability, maintainability and practicability from the beginning to the end. The graphical programming provides an excellent way to develop software. In the final part of this dissertation, the future approach of this system is considered.
