As the development of the society and the extending of people’s needs, a mass of VOCs which generated by the activities of people’s production and lives be discharged to the environment, and their sorts turn to complexity while the quantities turn to abundance. Mean while, the VOCs which be in the environment may be react with other matters in the air and create more complex matters which may have more harmful to environment, human beings and ecosystem. So many people in the world concern the method which can purify the VOCs effectively. Today there are many methods and techniques be used to treat the VOCs. and these methods and techniques all could get effective result. As a method of retrieve, the adsorption of activated carbon (AC) has many excellences like the maturity craft, high effective and the adsorbents are very cheap and very easy to buy. So in the reality many people would like to choose this way to reduce the VOCs.In this paper, we have researched the adsorption process of activated carbon on the moisture content of gas and two-component competitive adsorption through processing volatile organic compounds such as dichloromethane, ethanol, benzene and toluene and adopt absorber to modify the activated carbon. The results are as following:1、In the same flow rate of imports, increase gas concentration, the breakthrough time of dichloromethane on the activated carbon adsorption will be shortened.2、In the same concentration of imports, increase inlet flow of the gas, then breakthrough time of dichloromethane on the activated carbon adsorption will also be shortened.3、In the same flow rate and concentration, when the adsorption temperature rise up, the adsorption capacity decreased.4、In the two-component competitive adsorption, the two components will be apparent to the case of competitive adsorption, the strong adsorbate will replace the weak adsorbate, adsorption capacity of the adsorbate on activated carbon have a great relationship of the strength of its low boiling point.5、during the process of dealing with dichloromethane, adsorption process is divided into three processes. When there was excessive moisture content in the gas, the adsorption decreased evidently, and the adsorbate was desorbed from the activated carbon. There is even almost no adsorbed substance when exhaust gas was adsorbed using carbon of saturated water. During the process of dealing with grain alcohol, moisture content in gases has less impact on adsorption capacity. Even if activated carbon adsorbed enough water, there is still much adsorption.6、On the experiment of adsorbing VOC using modified carbon showed that the adsorption of modified carbon increases while the decrease to60%in absorbent,but it can reduce the effect of moisture content on gas adsorption.The amount of the impregnating solution has certain influence on the activated carbon adsorption capacity.the impregnation solution added should be limited in a certain amount to make good adsorption capacity of dichloromethane in high humidity.7、The gas of dichloromethane and ethanol mixture containing water vapor pass through the carbon adsorbing enough water and the impregnated activated carbon to achieve the effect of separate adsorption.
