Hydraulic decoking is a decoking method widely used in delayed coking process. It can drill or decoke using high pressured water.This technology can break off the coke in the coke tower and clean out the coke in the end. At present the problem of this method is:the way that the operator judge whether or not the decoking work is finished is through observing the amount of coke in the water which flow out from bottom of the tower. But the operator is on an operating platform which is forty meters high above the bottom of the tower. This way is not reliable as it can be easily influenced by the weather and the night. And it can’t meet the all-weather requirement of the decoking.Through studying the decoking process, we find that the signal strength of the coke tower is quite different when the hydraulic decoking status changed. According to this phenomenon, this paper puts forward a method to detect the decoking work status through sensors that installed on the coke tower. And the signal of the decoke tower will be analysed by the computer to show weather or not the decoking work is finished.According to the detecting results and the process requirement, this paper puts forward an automatic control scheme. On the basis, this paper designed an automatic detecting and control system scheme for the hydraulic decoking.The detecting system for the hydraulic decoking consist of vibrating sensor, signal conditioner and data acquisition card. It can capture the signal of the decoking tower and send the signal to computer for analysis. After the analysis we can get the status of the hydraulic decoking work. The control system is made up of PLC, encoder and optoelectronic switch. PLC can control the motor according to the detecting results to finish the decoking work automatically.This paper also developed the full-automatic detecting and control system program. It finished the data acquisition work using LabVIEW and completed the frequency analysis work. Moreover, this paper realized the data communication between LabVIEW and PLC. And this paper developed a human-computer interface which can show the process of the hydraulic decoking on real-time.Finally, this paper integrated the test platform and done the test work. The test results show that this system can work well and it reached the expected effect.
