The paper analyzes the problems of low efficiency and high energy consumption of beam pumping unit and the research status of new type energy-saving pumping unit. Through comparative analysis with the structural scheme of the active main types of pumping units and making structural design of new transmission pumping unit, determines the structure program of the new transmission pumping unit and solve the shortcomings of energy consumption and low efficiency of the beam pumping unit. This paper includes the following sections:First, the overall design of the new transmission pumping units, the main structures of the pumping unit are SRD motor, gear box, controller, rack-and pinion mechanism, sucker rod, brake mechanism, sucker rod clamp, body and standoff. This paper makes structural design of various components of the pumping unit and then gives the design method of rack-and-pinion mechanism.Moreover, through comparative of dynamic and motion analysis of the active-duty pumping units, establish the mathematical model of the polished rod motion of new transmission pumping unit and obtain the motion characteristics of the new transmission pumping unit and then analysis the polished rod load law. The paper make an dynamic and motion assessment of four kinds of pumping units and a new drive pumping unit, the above assessment give the energy consumption analysis which make sure that the new transmission pumping is more conducive to improve system efficiency and has a good energy saving effect.Last, the paper makes force analysis to rack mechanism which is the key components of the pumping unit. And using "ANSYS" to make force analysis and strength check.
