With the development of new synthetic fibers, the production of global fiber increasing, and polyester fiber became more and more popular with its unique performance and price advantage. However, it is always difficult to dyeing under normal temperature due to the chemical structure factors. Instead, it usually needs to be dyed with disperse dye in the condition of high temperature and high pressure or with carriers. In addition, polyester fiber has higher refractive index, reflectivity, so that in the same dyeing conditions, the color of polyester fiber fabric surface appears paler. Along the demand for the fabric appearance including color and luster is higher and higher, and the society calls for energy conservation and emissions reduction, deep-coloring fiber will attract more and more attention. It not only can save dye, shorten dyeing time and improve production efficiency, etc., but also satisfy people’s needs. So developing easy dyeing and differentiation polyester fiber, offering more and more textile materials for the market become the enterprise’s continuous pursuit and goal.This research is on the foundation of our research group’s study on higher dark-dyeing characteristic and higher color fastness non-circular cross-section PET fiber. The experimental research is on the spinning process of deep-coloring non-circular cross-section PET filaments, developing fibers and fabric samples, comparing and analyzing the objective testing and subjective evaluation methods of the deep-coloring effect. The results offer the theoretical guidance and practical significance for the spinning of non-circular cross-section PET fiber and the evaluation of deep-coloring effect. The main contents and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1) Through the analysis of the optical performance of textile materials, it is concluded that polyester fiber has high refractive index, smooth surface, specular reflection plays an important role in its light reflection and after dyeing, there will be a lot of reflected light from the fiber surface entering our eyes with its high light reflectivity, so that the color of the product seems paler. Therefore, to make polyester fabric with deep-coloring effect, one of the feasible approaches is to weaken the directional light reflection ability of the fiber or enhance the scattering ability to the reflected light on the fabric surface, to make more light into the fiber interior, and this will not damage the fiber or reduce fiber properties.(2) Through adjusting spinning process parameters such as spinning flow, winding speed, spinning temperature, etc, to spin the designed circular and non-circular cross-section PET fibers with2kinds of linear density, found that the spinning process parameters must be strictly controlled to acquire the non-circular cross-section PET fiber. Through trial and error, the cross section of PET fiber maximum close to the designed morphology.(3) The fabric weaving and dyeing of non-circular cross-section PET fiber. Through the right selection of suitable dye and supplier-recommended process parameters, design the contrast dyed samples to make the designed fibers presenting on the surface furthest. During the experiment study of deep-coloring non-circular cross-section PET fiber, the best color that chooses is monochrome to facilitate the color depth analysis.(4) The evaluation of fabrics with deep-coloring. After related color depth detection analysis of the dyed self-made PET non-circular cross-section fiber and fabric, found that reasonably choosing the non-circular cross-section of PET fiber and increase the shape degree of the non-circular cross-section can enhance the deep-coloring of PET fiber fabrics. However this needs high shape degree of the non-circular cross-section, so the strict spinning process parameter control request is necessary. During the design and spinning process, large plane on the fiber surface must be avoided. Otherwise the opposite effect will happen. In addition, the subjective evaluation of apparent color depth can be easily influenced by environment and the inspector, therefore, subjective evaluation system should be comprehensive and unified, objective testing method must be precise, and reasonably select he physical index of apparent color depth, so that the subjective evaluation and objective detection of the apparent color depth can be effective and consistent.
