The economy of our country springs up with the reform and opening up and the miningindustry also has great changes. With increasing demand of coal, the scale of coal productionenterprises extend continuously and the mining depth increases which makes the problemsand potential threats in coal enterprises becoming increasingly prominent, reflected in the gasdisaster, especially. For example, in Shanxi Province, more than300people dead in gasaccidents from2006to2012and direct economic losses exceeds200million. According tostatistics, all the coal mines with underground mining method are gaseous mines, among these,48%are high gas and outburst mines. Thus, it is clear that gas control is an important premiseof coal mine safety production and its quantity directly related to the production safety. Themost effective method for gas control is gas drainage in coal seam and gas can be utilized as aclean energy. Therefore, reinforcing the study on gas drainage is of great significance forprevention of accidents and guarantees the safety production of coal mine enterprises go onwheels.Firstly, the current situation of gas drainage was summarized in this paper and reasonablemethods of gas drainage for coal enterprises were put forward based on the analysis of gasdrainage condition in our country.Secondly, on the basis of coal gas occurrence and flow theory, technical experience ofcoal mine gas drainage was summarized and technology and methods of gas drainage werestated systematically including the coal seam gas drainage, adjacent layer gas drainage, gobgas drainage and technological approaches to improve the gas drainage rate. Existing gasdrainage parameters were introduced deeply and some of the parameters were optimized.Thirdly, by comparing the application range and limitation of all kinds of gas drainagemethods, combining characteristics of coal mine safety production and according to selectionprinciple of gas drainage method, the general idea which proceeds gas drainage in mined bed,adjacent layer and gob at the same time was proposed. At last, gas drainage design was conducted in one coal mine of Yangquan City and gasdrainage system was built. The final gas drainage system conformed to the realistic gasemission situation completely and thus verified the effectiveness and applicability ofcomprehensive gas drainage method of coal seam.
