Assessment To The Ecological Security Of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Based On The Ecological Footprint

Since the reform and opening policy in China, China’s social and economicdevelopment has made great achievements, but the extensive development of theeconomy also brings a lot of resources problems and serious pollution of theenvironment. Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is the nature cover for defense inthe north of China.But it also have many problems on ecological security, such as soilerosion, grassland degradation, land desertification, destruction of the ecologicalenvironment of the phenomenon. Because of its special geographical location andresources and environment conditions, the Inner Mongolia autonomous region’secological environmental problems has stood out. These problems are not onlyrestricting the autonomous region’s economic and social sustainable development, butalso affecting regional ecological security and national ecological security.This paper will use Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as researchobject,mainly by utilizing the method of ecological footprint model and time seriesanalysis method, select per capita ecological footprint, ecological carrying capacity,ecological deficit and ecological footprint diversity and some other related indicators,to research the dynamic change and present situation of ecological security in InnerMongolia autonomous region from1996to2010.In the process of concrete research,by selecting the ecological deficit and ecological diversity, the pressure index ofecological footprint and ecological coordination coefficient as important indexes,using principal component analysis method to build ecological safety dynamicevaluation index system of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region in1996~2010,making a comprehensive evaluation on its ecological dynamically security andsituation. And make a further analysis on the influence factors of the ecologicalfootprint of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region in recent15years and the main problems which needs to be settled.
