China is locating at the urbanization accelerated stage of development, that howto coordinate the inherent relationship between urbanization and ecologicalenvironment is the key issue should be solved in the current sustainable developmentstudy. The city is an artificial composite system which can be simply designated as thetheme of urbanization subsystem and ecological environment. Urbanizationsubsystem or ecological environment subsystem has alternates among dissipativestructure, material energy and entropy with the outside world at all times. Accordingly,the text follows the second law of thermodynamics, entropy change equationevolution discriminated the coupled model between urbanization and ecologicalenvironment of the sample unit—Jilin Province from2005to2011, and on this basisthe article proposed some control measuresIn this process, this article made the definitions of urbanization and ecologicalenvironment, considering urbanization as a comprehensive concept, which is based onthe interactions among population, economic society and eco-environment, whilepeople is the behavior, economic is the driving force and space is the carrier.Therefore, this article constructed the comprehensive urbanization evaluation indexesfrom population urbanization, economic urbanization and space urbanization percepts.While ecological environment is a complex ecosystem, a human socio-economicactivity interacts with environment ecosystem, which is a typical stress vulnerabilitycharacteristic: showing pressure-sensitive-elasticity characteristic. So, this articlebuilds the ecological environment quality evaluation indexes from the perspectives ofpressure, sensitive, elasticity. Then use the entropy method and PSE model tocalculate the development level of urbanization and the ecological environmentcomprehensively.The results show that:1) the level of urbanization is basically a smooth rising curve, showing a faster increase, while economic take the control of the wholeurbanization process;2) the development level of ecological environment is basicallya rising curve, showing a stage characteristics; in which pressure, sensitive indexesare on the rising, while the elastic index is also growing, but over the past two years isdeclining, the development level of the ecological environment is continue to enhance;3) the coupled mode between urbanization subsystem and ecological environmentsubsystem is essentially a coordination or antagonistic major categories. Whileurbanization subsystem shows a rising curve and the ecological environmentsubsystem shows up and down during the study period.4) Suggestions–this paperuses the sustainable development theory, people and land systems theory, ecologicalcity theory as the theoretical guidance to propose a solution to reduce the pressure,sensitive and improve elasticity on ecological environment.Content from the chapter point of view, the article is divided into five parts, asfollows:(1) Introduction part: the main emphasis on the coordinated development ofurbanization and ecological environment research background, purpose, significance,research ideas and key issues to be addressed, methods and technical route.(2) Fundamental research: major retrospective and expounded the theory originof the internal relationship between urbanization and ecological environment, basedon the re-interpretation of the concept of urbanization and ecological environment,this article puts forward the theory of man-land system, sustainable developmenttheory, the theory of dissipative structures, eco-city theory and geographical divisionof labor theory as the basic support theory.(3) the coordinated development of urbanization and ecological environmentevaluation system and its coupling mode discrimination: divided into two large pieces,one is based on the interpretation of the concept of urbanization and ecologicalenvironment, design the corresponding evaluation index system, the other is the use ofentropy change equation inductive summarize subsystem of urbanization andecological environment subsystem coupled mode of action and its evaluation methodand criterion. (4) The coordinated development evaluation of urbanization and the ecologicalenvironment: first, based on the entropy method and PSE model of Jilin Province,2005-2011urbanization and ecological environment development level evaluation,and then use the entropy change equation discriminated Jilin Province urbanizationand ecological environment coupling mode of action of Jilin Province, urbanizationand ecological environment, coordinated and sustainable development, and on thisbasis the appropriate regulatory proposal.(5) Conclusions and Prospects: combing and summarized the conclusions of thisstudy and the lack of its future needs for the further study.
