As a minimally invasive treatment, Interventional therapy use modern high-technology to have an operation. The precision instruments such as interventional catheter and interventional guidewire, guided by medical imaging equipments, for instance, angiography machine, Computed Tomography, and Ultrasonic B, etc, are led into lesions in the human vessel lumen to make a diagnosis or a local treatment. In the intravascular interventional therapy, the interventional catheter is not only the transmission channel of operating, but also the key to a successful operation. During the surgery the interventional guidewire can lead the movement of the catheter in the blood vessels. The interventional catheter hub and guidewire hub can assist catheter and guidewire in achieving the operating requirements. The injection molds of interventional catheter hub and guidewire hub were designed and manufactured. Using the interventional catheter and guide wire as inserts respectively, the bonding of catheter and hub, guidewire and hub were achieved in the molds.First of all, the structure and the insert-molding theory of interventional catheter hub were analysed. To predict the melted bonding area of catheter and hub, Moldfolw software was used to simulate the insert-molding process of catheter hub. Then the injection mold of catheter hub was designed, which is not only convenient to assemble catheter, but also able to achieve the bonding of catheter and hub in the mold.Then, the structure and the insert-molding theory of interventional guidewire hub were analysed. To connection of guidewire and hub, Moldfolw software was used to simulate the insert-molding process of guidewire hub. Then the injection mold of guidewire hub was designed, which is not only convenient to assemble guidewire, but also able to connect the guidewire and hub in the mold.What’s more, the injection molds of interventional catheter hub and guidewire hub were manufactured and assembled. The EDM technology and CNC milling technology were used for processing the molding parts of molds.At last, the injection molding experiments of intervention catheter hub and guidewire hub using polypropylene material were carried out respectively. The effect of melt temperature on the bonding interface of catheter and hub was discussed. The influence of insert length of guidwire on the connection within guidwire and hub was analysed.
