The rapid growth of global energy demand result in transportation industry booming quickly and oil exploration and exploitation rising significantly, which also lead to marine oil spills increasingly frequently. After marine oil spills accidents, oil fingerprint information is crucial to quickly determine the source, accurately evaluating the loss of oil spill, as well as hold perpetrators responsibility and safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of victims. Therefore, Identification of the oil in Oil spill accidents has important practical significance. In this study, two crude oils and two bunker oils up to1year outdoor simulated weathering. Using Gas Chromatography GC-FID method Constant wavelength synchronous fluorescence spectrometry and atomic absorption spectrometry to measure and analyze the distribution and content of alkynes, fluorescence characteristics and nickel vanadium ratio in oil samples. Integrating the three representative oil fingerprint parameters, which can be used to analyze features of four experimental oils during weathering processes in order to explore whether the conventional oil fingerprint identification parameters is suitable for long-term severe weathering of oil or not. In addition, the fresh oil naturally weather into the downs oil, the whole process of which has been follow-up analysis to explore whether long-term weathering of oil affecting oil characteristics or not.The experimental results show:(1) nickel and vanadium content varied significantly in different oils, during the long-term weathering processes, nickel and vanadium will remain basically unchanged in the same oil, which are less affected during weathering and can be used as a long-term study oil spill weathering characteristics of indicators.(2) fluorescence characteristics of two crude oils can be used as the characteristic parameters of long-term weathering; fluorescence characteristics of the two Bunker oils in the short-term weathering processes can be used as characteristic parameters. But the characteristic peaks weakened at384nm during the long-term weathering process, which interfere with the identification of the oils. (3) The distribution characteristics of n-alkynes in the crude oils and Bunker oils is different. The distribution and content of the hydrocarbon with advantages in crude oils are larger than the Bunker oils; the distribution of the hydrocarbon with advantages in the four experimental oils during weathering processes is narrower than before, light components affected by weathering lose significantly.(4) Three diagnostic ratios:Pr/Ph, Pr/C17and Ph/C18in crude oils during weathering were less affected by weathering, which can be used as characteristic parameters for identifying crude oil of long-term weathered. The diagnosis of two kinds of marine fuel oil before and after weathering is uncertain, the diagnostic ratio can not be used as the parameters of oil fingerprint feature for identifying marine fuel oil.
