Pattern is the most classic way of the Islamic art. The Islamic patterns has been relatively mature, which used in construction, decoration, clothing, handicrafts and other fields, and this Art Deco of furniture design is very unique, but there is little research about Islamic patterns applied in furniture design. This article is research about the Islamic patterns applied in furniture design, the purpose of this paper is combining the Islamic art and modern design concepts, to provide reference theoretical and practical guidance for the design of modern Islamic furniture.This article uses the literature study extensive collection of related documents and photo information. From the origins of Islamic culture, to tap it’s cultural connotation, and analysis the elements:the patterns origin of constituting the exquisite designs, artistic characteristics and color concept. By the analysis of Islamic patterns, summarized the theme classification rules of the patterns, Pants patterns are usually covered with a large area for the items for decoration; Geometric patterns are usually play an the role of frame around in the decorative; Word design patterns are usually decorated in typical handicrafts decorative surface.To provide the Image material and theoretical basis for the future a more comprehensive study of Islamic patterns and Islamic furniture. After the study of Islamic patterns, this paper through the comparative analysis methods. We study the types of traditional Islamic furniture, the materials of the traditional furniture and the patterns decorative techniques which in the traditional furniture. By analysis part of the traditional Islamic furniture classic case, this paper summarizes the advantages and limitations of the traditional Islamic patterns in furniture applications.
