Lacquer decorative patterns of Mawangdui Han Dynasty tomb are the typical representative of Chinese traditional elements. Its decoration patterns of appearance and connotation characteristics are very important sources to be absorbed by modern Chinese furniture. The author analysis the application of lacquer decorative patterns of Mawangdui Han Dynasty Tomb in New Chinese Furniture by the way of comparative analysis, case analysis, field survey method, etc. Combined with design practice verification, the main results are as followings:From the perspective of representation characteristic of mawangdui lacquer decoration patterns, Mawangdui lacquer decoration patterns have four types which are mythic image, geometry image, animals image, nature image. And they have four organizational form which are continuous pattern (second side continuous patterns and four continuous pattern), suitable for organization pattern, single pattern.The author is put forward four methods of modern refined which are direct reference, literally change, while generalizations, decomposition combination. And combined with example the concrete application of these methods are analyzed. Then parsing out new design elements, Thereby provides more material for the new Chinese style furniture design.The author analysis and summarizes the law of decoration parts of new Chinese style furniture by comparative analysis and other means, Then get the corresponding conclusions.
