A series of complexes of rare earth elements (La, Ce, Nd, Dy, Er, Yb) weresynthesized, and use of EDTA titration, element analysis, IR, UV, fluorescence, TG,Λmto characterize and test their general or bacteriostatic properties and the interactionwith bovine serum albumin. The paper will be divided into three parts, as follows:Part one: the synthesis and bacteriostatic properties of rare earth complexes withamino acids and1,10-phenanthrolinesUsing culture medium diffusion method examines the antibacterial properties oftwo kinds of rare earth complexes. Moreover, through the comparison ofbacteriostatic properties with other similar complexes, the results showed that the rareearth ternary complexes had better effects on escherichia coli, in addition, comparedwith the complexes doping La/Dy in fluorescent properties, the results showed thatthe fluorescence intensity of the complexes reached maximum when the doping ratioof La and Dy was4:6.Part two: the synthesis of Schiff base binary complex with condensation compound ofvanillin and threonine as well as spectral research of interaction with BSAThe interaction between the Vanillin-L–Thr Schiff base complexes and BovineSerum Albumin (BSA) was investigated by using fluorescence. The experimentalresults show that the regular fluorescence quenching of BSA is caused by thecomplexes, and it is a static quenching. TheΔG of the process of interaction betweenthe complexes and BSA is less than zero, which indicates than this process is aspontaneous process. The binding process of the Dy complex and BSA is theelectrostatic attraction, but the Yb complex and BSA is the hydrogen bond and vander Waals′force play the major role.Part three: the synthesis of rare earth ternary complexes with phenylalanine and5-Fluorouracil as well as spectral research of interaction with BSAThe interaction between the Nd/Dy-L-Phe-5-Fu complexes and Bovine SerumAlbumin (BSA) was investigated by using fluorescence. The experimental resultsshow that the regular fluorescence quenching of BSA is caused by two kings of complexes, and it is a static quenching. TheΔG of the process of interaction betweenthe complexes and BSA is less than zero, which indicates than this process is aspontaneous process. The binding process of the Nd-L-Phe-5-Fu complex and BSAis the hydrogen bond and van der Waals′force, but the Dy-L-Phe-5-Fu complex andBSA is the electrostatic attraction play the major role.
