As one of the most important resources of the oil and gas enterprise, reservoirengineering data includes characteristics of invo lving many subjects, complicated datatypes and distributed storage. Reservoir engineering data management is efficient or notdirectly concerns to the evaluation of oil-gas resource, the results and benefits of theexploration and development. With the development of the exploration and developmenttechnique, the quantity of the reservoir engineering data rapidly expand and bring forwardmore demand to management.The directory service technology is a product of the rapid development of networkinformation technology,which realizes the rapid query and use by centralized managementof data on the logic. On the basis of the study of LDAP directory service technology, thispaper established reservoir engineering data directory service system, in order to achievethe management and sharing of distributed reservoir data.The thesis analyses the current management and applied situation of reservoir data,and proposes an idea of introducing directory service into reservoir data management,which aims at the subject of the research and application of reservoir data. And then thethesis expatiates the key technology of directory service technology, LDAP protocol,Oracle directory service and so on. Combining with distributed storage, poor correlationand cross-database queries of reservoir data, the thesis designs and implements the dataintegration model based on virtual data center. The model constructs a virtual data center bymetadata from original data, achieves data integration on the logic, then it can provideuniform data access interface to upper application and complete the integration ofheterogeneous and multi-source data. According to the analysis of the characteristics ofreservoir data, the system designs the directory service from four aspects, such asdirectory data, directory model, directory tree, and security strategy. Finally, basingon the design of directory service and integration model, the reservoir engineering datadirectory service system has been designed and developed. The system has achieved goodresults in the field of numerical reservoir simulation data.This system can provide users with a clear data directory structure view and realizerapid data positioning and query. It meets the requirements of reservoir engineeringmulti-disciplinary information fusion and data management, increases the rate of dataresources and improves the efficiency of data. Also it is very efficient in theory and practice.
