The silk quilt has excellent comfort, warmth retention property and health performance, but during the use of silk quilt, the human body evaporation of moisture, salt and acid ingredients gradually adsorptive in silk quilt. The residual sericin gradually commit denaturation, resulting in the silk fiber harden and yellowing, and influence the fluff and the warmth retention property of the silk quilt. In the traditional produce process of silk quilt, in order to improve the softness and reduce sericin denaturation, we through scouring process to remove sericin,which not only waste silk materials of excellent performance of sericin protein, but also cause the environmental pollution. Since the sericin performance lively, some residual indissolvable sericin will commit denaturation in the use process, sooner or later.This paper aims at solving the defect of silk quilt. We discuss the factors influence the warmth retention property as the foundation of the research. This paper researches the optimal sericin fixing process of cocoon silk with different sericin rate, and explores the application of sericin in the silk quilt. The research use the cocoon as the experiment material, first of all, put the cocoon in EKL-101soaking auxiliary in a certain bath ratio for vacuum osmosis,and then commit cocoon cooking. After these processes make cocoon suction uniform fully, and increase the softness of cocoon layer. We choose sodium bicarbonate as degumming agent, mass concentration:4g/L,and through controlling the degumming temperature and time for the preparation of cocoon silk with different sericin content. Choose glutaraldehyde as fixing agent, and we design three factors four levels orthogonal experiment which set GA mass concentration, temperature and time as the factors affect the sericin fixing experiment to explore the optimal sericin fixing process for the cocoon silk with different sericin rate.Test the fastness of sericin fixing with the sodium carbonate solution of2g/L concentration, and analysis the silk protein stability after the sericin fixing treatment. Then, test the moisture regain, mechanical properties, thermal conductivity and infrared spectrum, to explore the changes of the cocoon silk after the sericin fixing treatment. Further discuss the influence of the performance of silk quilt after the fixation of sericin. Summarizes the following conclusions:1) Choose NaHCO3as degumming agent is a gentle degumming methods which is a effective method to prepare cocoon silk with different sericin rate. Silk degumming rate increase as the extension of time and present a first fast and then slow down change trend. A large number of test summary that, in the condition of NaHCO3mass concentration4g/L, bath ratio1:100,100℃, degumming6min,10min,12min,20min~25min can get cocoon silk with the sericin rate about20%,15%~16%,10%,4%~5%.2) Select the weight gain rate for measure the cross linking degree between GA and sericin as macroscopic index; Select the sericin loss rate in alkaline solution in order to measure the effect of sericin fixing as macroscopic index; Select the whiteness variation to measure the reaction degree as the reference index. Then draw the optimal sericin fixing process by the agent glutaraldehyde (GA):GA concentration0.1%, temperature40℃, and the reaction time2h.3) The performance of the cocoon silk after the sericin fixing has certain change, mainly displays in the following aspects:sericin fixing treatment effectively improve the silk protein stability in damp and hot environment and improve the acid resistance and alkali resistance. The sericin loss rate is less than3%in alkaline solution. The moisture regain decline rang from2%to4%.The breaking strength and elongation at break are increased, while the initial modulus declined, that is to say the softness increased after the sericin fixing. The coefficient of thermal conductivity of the cocoon silk changes very little after the sericin fixing, only a difference of about2%.there are some different peak shape, peak position and different peak height after sericin fixing of the characteristics of the peak in Infrared spectrum. The wave number of some characteristic peak move location, that is to say the molecular structure of cocoon silk has a certain degree of change. After the the sericin fixing,the clo value of the silk quilt increased about16%compared with before. And the compressive resistance of the silk quilt was raised compared with the ordinary silk quilt. That is to say,the application of sericin fixing treatment in silk quilt is beneficial to improve the warmth retention property.The paper is on the basis of the theoretical analysis and experimental research, and completed the expected research content, the research results help to improve the sericin protein stability in damp and hot environment of the silk quilt. And can fundamentally overcome the defect of traditional silk quilt caused by sericin denaturation. Improve the stability of sericin and increase the utilization rate of silk in the guarantee of the original good performance of the silk quilt. Therefore, it is feasible to apply the sericin fixing treatment in the production of silk quilt,and can also help upgrade the quality and class of the product,as well as cater to the market demand.
